It was always just that, something learned for me. Now that my mother is dead, and I think of yours who is dead too, I viscerally understand these still lives as an excellent representation of death, something so hard to comprehend, let alone depict. But, your relationship to your mom is there, the living and the dying plants she grew are there, beauty is there, timelessness is there, melancholy is there. It is all so clear and detailed, but it is also silent, and beyond is darkness.
